So on Sunday(with assistants from Andy) I built a Lie Detector sensor and a MP3 player Shield for an Arduino.

Working with the electronics is pretty straight forward and easy when you follow the instructions (recipe), you just have to be super alert and precise.

The coding is an other story, luckily there is a lot of templates and tutorials to start with

I am working on the Digital Art Lab project. So 3 days a week I am commuting about an hour to Zoetermeers ‘Centrum voor Kunst en Cultuur’ (centre for arts and culture) better known as CKC http://www.ckc-zoetermeer.nl/home. There together with the Patchingzone team, CKC staff and teachers we are now building an Digital Art Lab where traditional arts can meet technology. The lab is targeted to serve the youth going to CKC and youth in Zoetermeer area; “the primary research question for this project is: What should the new art courses for the digital generation look like?”

The project has just started, here is a video I made as a glimpse of Zoetermeer a part of our field research that took form in a derive -walk.

Mainly the material will be used during music classes in middle and secondary schools as well as institutions that offer music classes. The idea is to present Finish composers and operas, the first section we are working with is the “Isän Tyttö”-opera (Fathers girl). It is not about transferring the opera online, rather support understanding of opera online in a game like environment.

Through various activities the participants had interesting discussions relating to topics of human rights and ethical fashion. Prior to the workshop participants had seen the movie China Blue to arise questions.

Lotta Staffans and Katariina Oivo from the Finnish Clean Clothes Campaign led an awareness raising discussion about ethical fashion, how fashion industry often neglects human rights, and how these problems are dealt whit now, and what we can do as individual persons to arise awareness about the problem. After the discussion participants developed a own point of view to the new information through drama. Continuing on the topics of human rights, neglect of human rights and ethical fashion the participants collaborated in groups to bring forth their views in form of Killer Fashion Revolution designs.
