Made it to Human Rights Arts Festival

Even if the ash cloud over Europe delayed my trip to Washington DC for 3 days I still made it there and had 4 great days in Silver Spring and Washington. Hop-on-hop-of workshops were arrange at the Human Rights Arts Festival in Silver Spring, USA. About 40 participants took part in crafting and talking about ethical fashion. The workshops were held just by the installation and it worked well as a discussion opener. More about the festival and workshops at Killer Fashion Revolution -Wiki

Killer Fashion Revolution invited to International Human Rights Festival 2010

Killer Fashion Revolution participatory media art installation and hop-on-hop-off workshops are presented as a part of International Human Rights Arts Festival 23-25.4 in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. Amnesty International USA is the arrangers of the event. http://www.humanrightsartfestival.com

The installation and workshops will be at the City Palace Mall Sculpture garden. Come and join! You can join the workshop for 5 minutes or stay as long as you want. Together we will transform war related clothes to promote human rights!

Looks like I will graduate, therefore I will exhibit my thesis work at the Masters of Arts Exhibition arrange by Aalto University School of Art and Design. Masters of Arts 2010 exhibition will be 12th of May – 13th June at Elefantti quarters, Aleksanterinkatu 16-18 and Katariinankatu 3.

Killer Fashion Revolution Kick-off!

Here is a video that shows what happened at the first Killer Fashion Revolution workshop that was arranged 5-7th of February 2010. The workshop was at the same time a kick-off for the Killer Fashion Revolution -project and a CISV Mosaic-project. It was also a part of my thesis work for Alto University School of Art and Design.

Killer Fashion Revolution at OPEN 2009

5.7.2009 Killer Fashion Revolution concept was presented at OPEN 2009 Symposium arrange by Media Lab University of Art and Design Helsinki http://mlabsymp.uiah.fi/2009/. The presentation was in the form of an video. I also participated in the panel discussion of the Making Openness track in the Art and Museums session.

The two day symposium was very interesting presenting divers points of views of what openness can be. Openness was also a goal of the arrangers; the paper and video review process was made open, the symposium was video streamed on-line, Qaiku comments where projected for presenters and other symposium participants and conclusions where written collaboratively on-line.

Here is the video presentation made for this happening, reflecting on how KFR can be seen as a project that promotes openness.
