I was born 1979 in Helsinki, Finland. I recently graduated from Aalto University, School of art and design, Media Lab (former Helsinki University of Art and Design) and hold a Master of Arts degree in New Media. In Helsinki I am currently working in a cross disciplinary project initiated by the Sibelius Academy in which new media designers, opera music researchers and music pedagogues produce educational on-line material for youth about Finnish opera. Summer 2010 I will move to the Netherlands to work at the Patchingzone where we build a digital art lab directed to youth in co-operation with Centrum voor Kunst en Cultuur – Centre for Arts and Culture in Zoetermeer (The Hague area).

I have graduated from Mellersta Nylands Yrkesskola – vocational school (Helsinki, 1998) with basic examination in media culture and from a Arcada polytechnic (Espoo/Helsinki 2001) with a bachelor degree in Media. During my MA studies in Aalto University I spent an exchange semester in IDAS Hong-ik University in Seoul, South Korea. In between my studies during years 2000 to 2007 I worked as an Web Designer and Art Director in a media production company. Since 2001 I volunteered for a peace education organization called CISV by organizing international youth camps and training adults in cross cultural collaboration. CISV is a charitable, independent, non-political, volunteer organization promoting peace education and cross-cultural friendship. Trough CISV i have a insight to peace education practice as a participant, a leader and as an organizer.

In my artistic work I investigates synergies between peace education and participatory art and design practices as well as enhance cross cultural and cross disciplinary collaboration to find various perspectives to approach themes and challenges. In addition to my artistic work I have a one woman web and graphic design company and I am happy to collaborate with other small companies. Right now I am collaborating with following:

One of my passions is traveling. Since 2005 when I started my first world around journey I have been hooked by traveling and specially backpacking.
